Mark is Uniquely Prepared to Serve

Mark Crockett is an expert with large organizations. In his career as a management consultant, he has helped dozens of “Fortune 2000” companies become more focused and efficient – savings hundreds of millions dollars to use for improved services. Efficiency and accountability are priorities that we need in our $741 million county government.

Mark has also been a small business owner and knows the sacrifices required to grow jobs and meet payroll. He knows how important small business is to our community and what government can do to help (or not).

Before going into business, Mark was a business lawyer with his degree from Stanford Law School. He understands how laws and regulations can end up making life too complicated or give unfair advantage to some while harming others.

Mark can and will make sure our county policies are simple and balanced and will keep a fair playing field for everyone.

Mark (39) studied Economics and International Relations at Brigham Young University where he was Student Body President. More recently, he created and taught a course at BYU on Defining Roles for Government, laying out a framework for what government should and shouldn’t do at local, state and federal levels.

Mark & Judy Crockett

Mark and his wife Judy reside in Holladay where they are expecting their first child. Mark also has a deep Utah heritage and a profound love and respect for our community.

Mark’s years of practical experience and service give him a unique understanding. His leadership and passion for open, honest and efficient government make him the person we need on the Salt Lake County Council.
