Budget Reform
There are always more good things to do than money. Since 2001, the County has not raised property taxes, except for parks and open space. Keeping taxes down from here will require sharper thinking and better execution. This past year, we finally passed a resolution asking each County program to annually propose ways to improve service while becoming more efficient. One of the main reasons I am running again is to make these improvement plans a real part of our budgeting process.
