Our County Government
The Salt Lake County government
expense budget is $741,095,726. That’s a lot of money – your
money:
- $108 million for municipal
services like fire protection and sheriff services
- $65 million for grant programs
like substance abuse and aging services
- $10 million for roads
- $7 million for flood control
- $27 million for visitor
promotion and tourism, etc.
- $16 million for zoos, arts and
parks
- $25 million for libraries

- and so on
In other words, we spend a lot of
money on a lot of valuable services. These services make a big
difference in the quality of our lives. And the money we spend on
them comes right out of your pocket. Let’s work together to make
sure we get the most for our money and the most for our community.
